Force Calculator

This tool helps you calculate force using Newton's second law of motion and explains the basic concepts behind force.

How to Use This Calculator

  • Adjust the slider for Mass (m) in kilograms.
  • Adjust the slider for Acceleration (a) in meters per second squared.
  • The calculator will automatically compute the force in Newtons.
  • Click 'Reset' to return to the default values.

About Newton's Second Law

Newton's Second Law states that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it and inversely proportional to its mass.

This relationship is expressed as:

F = m × a

where

  • F is the net force applied (in Newtons, N)
  • m is the mass of the object (in kilograms, kg)
  • a is the acceleration (in meters per second squared, m/s²)
